Child with intra cardiac masses and multiple seizure types. Rhabdomyoma, Tuberous sclerosis and possible Lennox-Gastaut syndrome – A rare case report

چکیده

Rhabdomyoma are the most common benign cardiac tumors. These tumors with favorable prognosis because they frequently do not cause symptoms and often regress in numbers size. Due to frequent association tuberous sclerosis complex resulting neurological impairment, can be unfavorable (Sciacca et al., 2014) [1]. Here we report a case of 7 months old boy who was diagnosed as rhabdomyoma during fetal life by echocardiography later went on develop seizures part at 6 age. This also highlights difficulties obtaining diagnosis practicing latest evidence based treatment low income underdeveloped country like nepal especially patients belonging lower socioeconomic class due financial shortages lack resources.

Cardiac rhabdomyoma in familial tuberous sclerosis.

Cardiac rhabdomyomas are often associated with tuberous sclerosis in infants. We report a 5 month old child presented with a tumor in the right ventricle and echocardiography features of rhabdomyoma. Both the child and her father had cutaneous features of tuberous sclerosis. In the absence of features of congestive heart failure, surgery is rarely required.
